On Tuesday, the prison sentences for two individuals involved in the abduction and homicide of two teenagers from Toledo, whose remains were discovered in a house that had been set on fire, were announced.

According to court records, Lucas County Common Pleas Court sentenced Corbin Gingrich and Carrissa Eames on July 2 for their involvement in the tragic passing of Kyshawn Pittman and Ke’Marion Wilder in 2022.

Judge Lori Olender sentenced Gingrich to a minimum of 20 years in prison, but he could serve up to 25 years, after pleading guilty to two counts of Involuntary Manslaughter and two counts of Kidnapping.

Carissa Eames has admitted to being involved in two counts of Complicity in the Commission of Kidnapping and Complicity in the Commission of Felonious Assault. As a result, Judge Olender has sentenced her to a minimum of 12 years in prison.

Nearly a dozen individuals have been convicted in this case, including these two.

    • A jury found Charles Walker and Brent Kohlhoffer guilty of murdering the boys. They were sentenced to life in prison.
    • Gabriel Garcia took a plea deal and was found guilty on two counts of Abduction, both third-degree felonies. He was sentenced to four years in prison.
    • Cruz Garcia took a plea deal in January 2024 and was convicted in the case. Court dockets have not yet reflected his sentencing, which is expected in July.
    • Don Eames pleaded guilty to two counts of Involuntary Manslaughter, one count of Kidnapping, one count of Tampering with Evidence and once count of Obstructing Justice. He was sentenced to 16-18.5 years in prison.
    • Two juveniles were found guilty in 2023; one teen was convicted of Obstructing Justice and another was convicted of two counts of Felonious Assault.
    • Diamond Rivera and Crystal Laforge-Yingling were both convicted of Obstructing Justice charges. Both were sentenced to serve 270 days at CCNO.

According to the prosecutor in the case, Kaitlyn Tauber, the series of events started in November of 2022 when the homes of Brent Kohlhoffer and Charles Walker were burglarized. The house of Cruz Garcia’s mother was also robbed, and Corbin Gingrich, who was a co-defendant in the case, experienced the same fate.

According to prosecutors, the reason a missing persons report was filed was because the teenagers were removed from a birthday party at Maumee Bay State Park for exhibiting a firearm. Corbin Gingrich believed that the gun in question was his own and subsequently arranged for the boys to take an Uber to his residence on Maumee Street.

According to Kohlhoffer’s defense attorney, his client is not responsible for the murders of the teenagers. Instead, he placed blame on Gingrich, Don Eames, and Gabe Garcia.

According to Weatherly, Kohlhoffer is completely innocent of any wrongdoing. However, prosecutors argue that Kohlhoffer and Walker were summoned to the residence to collect the teenagers.

According to the prosecutor Tauber, the two teenage victims who were duct taped were taken away by the defendants in Walker’s car, and unfortunately, they were never seen alive again.
