Two women from Texarkana were taken into custody on Thursday for reportedly using a stick and a belt to physically assault the children of their roommate.

Last week, the mother of three children reported to the police that she entrusted the care of her sons to her roommates, Haley Blevins and Jacalyn Cook, while she went to work.

When the officer arrived at the scene, they observed bruises and welts on the legs and buttocks of all three boys.

According to jail records, Blevins faced three counts of felony injury to a child, while Cook was charged with two counts of injury to a child.

Both women are currently being held at the Bi-State Detention Center.
