According to Utah police, a woman has confessed to murdering her parents and stated that she would do it again.

On Wednesday, Mia Bailey was taken into custody by the police in Washington City. She has been charged with 11 felonies related to the killings of her parents, Joseph and Gail Bailey, as well as the purported attempted murder of her brother.

According to arrest records, Bailey’s brother contacted the authorities after she departed from their residence, as reported by ABC4 in the region.

Bailey has been charged with multiple serious offenses, including six counts of felony discharge of a firearm, two counts of aggravated murder, one count of attempted aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, and yet another count of third-degree felony discharge of a firearm, as reported by the news source.

Upon reviewing records from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, it was discovered by PEOPLE that Bailey was in police custody as of Thursday.

Mia Bailey reportedly confessed to the police that she had no remorse for her actions and would repeat them if given the chance. As per KSL.com’s report, Bailey’s statement was, “I would do it again.” The man involved in the incident expressed his disdain, saying, “I hate them,” according to the police report.

According to a news release from the Washington City Police, they were in search of Bailey’s yellow Kia Sol as it was observed leaving her parents’ residence following the tragic double homicide that took place on Tuesday. Eventually, Bailey was located.

According to court documents obtained by KUTV, police initially located Bailey on Tuesday, but she evaded arrest by quickly disappearing out of sight. At that point, she retrieved a firearm from her waistband and held it against her head. However, Bailey turned herself in to authorities in the early hours of Wednesday morning, as reported by the news outlet.

On Wednesday, St. George police officer Tiffany Mitchell provided an update on social media, stating that nobody else was harmed in the incident, and everyone involved is safe. Mitchell expressed gratitude that there were no further injuries.
