VyStar Foundation Allocates $200,000 to Nonprofit Military and Veterans Programs

12 nonprofits that offer military and veterans services in Florida and Georgia were recently awarded grants totaling just over $200,000 by the VyStar Foundation, based in Jacksonville.

VyStar Credit Union’s philanthropic arm has chosen a group of nonprofits based on their innovative and impactful methods of addressing homelessness, basic needs, mental health services, and workforce development.

In 2023, the foundation was established and has generously provided approximately $1 million in grants to various recipients. The following list includes the 2024 grant recipients:

A New Clinic in Jacksonville to Provide Care for 42,000 Additional Veterans

    • Clay County Rescue Mission, Orange Park — $20,000
    • Hart Felt Ministries, Jacksonville — $20,000
    • Heart of Florida United Way, Orlando— $20,000
    • Here Tomorrow, Jacksonville — $20,000
    • Hope4Veterans, Orange Park — $20,000
    • MOACC Good Deeds Foundation, Patrick Space Force Base — $20,000
    • Navy League of the U.S. Mayport Council — $20,000
    • Thomas University, Thomasville, Ga. — $19,965
    • Golden Isles Veterans Village, Brunswick, Ga. — $15,786
    • American Red Cross North Florida Region, Jacksonville — $10,800
    • Marion County Veterans Helping Veterans, Ocala — $10,000
    • Operation Lifeline, St. Augustine — $5,000.
