Over the weekend, a shooting incident in Washington state sparked an investigation by local police. The incident came to light after it was revealed that a female passenger had allegedly been sexually assaulted by her Uber driver.

According to reports from the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, a 58-year-old Uber driver by the name of Ahmed Ali has been accused of assaulting a female passenger who was allegedly “highly intoxicated” during a ride home on Saturday.

The driver is accused of using the Uber app to deceive the passenger into believing that he had dropped her off at her desired location in the county, which is an hour away from Seattle. However, instead of taking her to the requested destination, he took her to a secluded area.

The family grew worried when the woman failed to come back home. Her father took matters into his own hands and tracked her phone signal to a popular fishing spot to locate her whereabouts.

When he arrived, he found his daughter unclothed in the back of the Uber car. The driver had allegedly walked back to the front seat and appeared to be holding up his pants, as reported by Fox13.

Officials have reported discovering two shell casings near the incident, leading to a strong suspicion that bullets were fired. It is unclear at this time whether the family of the alleged victim shot the man. Police records indicate that Ali was allegedly beaten up by the victim’s family.

Two individuals were arrested in Arkansas after a traffic stop uncovered 10 pounds of marijuana and automatic weapons. The incident occurred during a routine traffic stop, and upon searching the vehicle, authorities discovered the illegal items. The two suspects were taken into custody and charged with drug and weapons offenses. This successful bust is a testament to the diligent work of law enforcement officials in combating drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession.

The Independent reached out to Uber via email for their response, but no statement has been received yet. Authorities have not provided any details that could reveal the identity of the victim or her family.
