Missouri has yet to experience a significant and prolonged cold snap this fall. However, the National Weather Service is cautioning that a potentially dangerous cold wave is on its way to Missouri, and residents won’t have to wait long before they feel its effects.
Today, I came across an intriguing story from the National Weather Service in St. Louis, Missouri. It’s not about Thanksgiving itself (which is already fascinating), but rather about what is anticipated to occur in the state after the Thanksgiving holiday.
From November 29 onwards, Missouri is bracing itself for an extended period of dangerously cold weather, as indicated by their 8 to 14 day outlook.
According to the weather service, there is a significant likelihood (70 to 80% chance) that you will need to take precautions to safeguard your plumbing and dress in layers from November 29 to December 5. The temperatures during this period are not only colder than what we have been experiencing, but they are also much lower than the usual late November and early December temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, the NOAA Climate Prediction Center concurs with their forecast of significantly lower temperatures expected for 8 to 14 days from late November to early December.
