LEAGUE CITY, Texas – Investigators are working to understand the events leading to a woman’s death after her body was discovered at the Wharf Marina dock in League City.

Police reported that they were called to the marina on Davis Rd. shortly after 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, where they found a woman not breathing at one of the docks. According to the League City Police Department’s Public Information Office, initial indications suggest she died from a drug overdose.

Medical examiners will perform an autopsy to gather more information.

In late May, police were called to the same marina when another woman, Giselle Salazar-Tapia, 30, was found hanging from one of the piers. Authorities suspected foul play in Salazar-Tapia’s case, unlike in Wednesday’s incident.

Both cases are still under investigation.
