A 28-year-old woman was detained after a frightening video went viral on social media.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office has charged Katelin Conklin, 28, with animal cruelty and domestic violence.

The sheriff’s office detained the 28-year-old after receiving notification of a “disturbing” video on social media on Monday.

The footage shows a lady named Conklin hitting her boyfriend and choking a dog.

The sheriff’s office reported the video as showing the dog trying to breathe.

Conklin also “forcefully” hurled the dog to the ground, according to records from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a home on Buena Avenue in Lemon Township to investigate the footage.

The sheriff’s office announced Conklin’s arrest after speaking with her and her boyfriend.

“This type of behavior is unacceptable,” stated Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones. “We take both domestic violence and animal cruelty very seriously, and we will always pursue charges when the evidence supports it.”
