A 24-year-old man from outside the United States allegedly pretended to be a 16-year-old student and attended an Ohio high school, even tricking the adult guardians he was living with.

According to a letter from school authorities to parents obtained by local source WTVG, the school received information fromĀ 24-year-old Anthony Labrador’s adult legal guardians that Labrador, who was enrolled as a 16-year-old student, was in fact an adult.

According to police documents obtained by the site, Labrador initially contacted the school in November 2023 to request enrollment, claiming to be born on December 2, 2007. He allegedly disclosed to the school his smuggling from Venezuela and presented a birth certificate in January 2024. The school also stated that he had an Ohio driver’s license, a Social Security number, and Temporary Protective Status from the United States Immigration Department.

According to police documents, Labrador attended the high school for several months before his legal guardians got contact from a lady claiming to be the mother of his child on May 14, 2025. She reportedly informed the guardians that the man they were caring for was actually a 24-year-old father. According to the publication, she provided corroborating documents, including a license under the name Anthony Emmanuel Labrador Sierra, born on March 27, 2001.

Border patrol became involved in the investigation and allegedly determined that Labrador’s visa had expired in 2023.

Labrador was apprehended during a traffic stop on May 19. He was charged with felony forgery.
