On November 24, 2024, a road rage incident turned into a shooting and crash at the intersection of Hardin Store Road and Trailwood Estates Drive. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received several reports of vehicles being shot at and promptly responded to the scene.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered the suspect’s vehicle, a gray Ford F150, had crashed at the intersection. The driver was immediately detained for further questioning. The Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Division conducted interviews with both the suspect and multiple victims. Through their investigation, it was determined that the driver deliberately rammed the back of the victim’s vehicle before proceeding to fire several shots.

The victim’s car was hit by gunfire, along with two other vehicles traveling in front of them. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.

John Dyer, a 53-year-old resident of Magnolia, TX, has been apprehended and is facing charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Following his arrest, Dyer was taken to the Montgomery County Jail and is currently being detained on a $50,000 bond.
