The incoming storm is getting closer, and forecasters from the National Weather Service in St. Louis now have a clearer idea of where snow will hit. They’re warning about travel disruptions on Saturday, particularly along interstate routes.

If you haven’t heard yet, snow is expected to affect most of Missouri starting early Saturday morning. While there’s still some uncertainty about the exact locations and amounts, the National Weather Service in St. Louis has shared some details on the timing and locations of the snow bands. Pay attention to their warning about Interstate 70, which they predict will see the heaviest snowfall.

This could create issues for those attending the Mizzou football game against Arkansas, scheduled for a 2:30pm kickoff. The I-70 corridor is expected to experience the most intense snowfalls.

But there’s a glimmer of good news for Saturday’s snowstorm in Missouri. If snow starts around 4am in mid-Missouri, as the National Weather Service currently predicts, the worst of the snow and low visibility could be over by noon. This would give time for the snow to be cleared before the largest crowds start heading to Columbia.

Even so, it’s wise to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. If you plan to travel through central Missouri on Saturday, expect snow to slow you down. If it doesn’t turn out to be a problem, consider it a win.
