Houston police have arrested Zariah Nicole Green, 21, in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on the evening of Friday, December 20, 2024. The incident took place at approximately 6:05 p.m. at a convenience store located at 3135 Akard Street in the Sunnyside area.

Officers responding to the scene found a 21-year-old male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately transported to Ben Taub General Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Authorities are withholding the victim’s identity until family members are notified, as confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Following an investigation, Green was identified as the primary suspect and was located near the scene. After questioning her, officers consulted with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, which approved a murder charge against Green. She was subsequently taken into custody and booked into the Harris County Jail.

The case remains under investigation, and authorities have yet to disclose additional details about the events leading to the shooting.
