Authorities arrest suspects in Katy Mills Mall shooting: 18-year-old and juvenile face charges

In a commendable display of efficiency, the Katy Police Department has managed to apprehend two suspects linked to a shooting incident at Katy Mills Mall. Their swift action ensured that the situation did not spiral out of control and brought a timely resolution to the matter.

Shooting at Katy Mills Mall: Shoppers describe what happened

FOX 26’s Abigail Dye interviews shoppers who witnessed the shooting incident at Katy Mills Mall. They provide firsthand accounts of what they saw and heard during the incident.

On Monday evening, authorities received reports of gunshots inside the mall around 5:21 p.m. Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement promptly secured the area and verified that no one had been injured. However, the individuals responsible for the incident had already fled in a vehicle.

In a recent incident at Katy Mills Mall, there was a shooting, fortunately, no one was injured. The suspects involved in the incident managed to escape from the scene.

Katy detectives conducted a swift and comprehensive investigation, which included a thorough review of surveillance footage from the mall. As a result, they were able to identify the shooter.

During the search, law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence. As a result, both Aaron Noah Chavez, an adult male, and a juvenile male were arrested. Additionally, authorities were able to recover the firearm believed to have been used in the incident.

Both Chavez and the juvenile suspect confessed to their participation in the shooting, indicating that it was a result of an ongoing feud between two groups.

Chavez and the juvenile are facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. At present, Chavez is being held at Fort Bend County Jail, while the juvenile is detained at Fort Bend County Juvenile Detention.

The Katy Police Department has received accolades from the community for its prompt action and efficient investigation, which further demonstrates the department’s dedication to upholding safety and security in the city. They remain steadfast in their efforts to apprehend and bring to justice anyone who poses a threat to the peace of Katy.
