A woman is wanted on two charges of felony theft for allegedly changing price tags at Academy Sports & Outdoor stores, according to Harris County Constable Precinct 4. Harris County Constable Precinct 4 accuses Phillis Penrice of altering price tags to pay less and then returning the items for a larger refund.

Constable Mark Herman’s Criminal Investigations Division obtained evidence identifying Penrice as the suspect who robbed the store of various items by changing the price tags to those of less expensive items. Investigators reportedly studied video evidence that shows her picking things, altering the price tags, and then returning them for a refund at the original, higher price.

The investigation, which was performed in partnership with the Academy’s Loss Prevention personnel, resulted in the Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepting two felony theft charges against Penrice with prior convictions. These offenses currently warrant Penrice’s arrest.

“My office takes a firm stance against all forms of theft and works hard to recoup losses and bring offenders to justice.” If you have any information on Phillis Penrice’s location, please contact our dispatch or your local law enforcement,” said Constable Mark Herman.
