The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics apprehended a suspect in connection with a human trafficking investigation at an Oklahoma City hotel.

The agency’s human trafficking team executed an arrest warrant Monday morning in connection with an investigation into a female being trafficked out of a hotel near Interstate 40 and Meridian Avenue, according to OBN authorities.

Another law enforcement agency notified OBN of a potential human trafficking victim during a recent, unrelated encounter, according to a statement from OBN spokesman Mark Woodward. Our agents discovered significant evidence of the victim’s trafficking during their investigation.

Agents discovered and detained the 38-year-old suspect soon before noon on Monday. Agents took him into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on several charges, including human trafficking.

“We are extremely fortunate to have separated this victim from her trafficker and offered her recovery assistance,” OBN Director Donnie Anderson stated in the news release. “And we want other victims of human trafficking to know they don’t have to be afraid; they are not alone, and help is available.”

Victims and anyone else with information about suspected human trafficking can call OBN’s tip line at 855-617-2288.
