U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently carried out the deportation of Fredy Rufino Aguilar-Hernandez, a 38-year-old Honduran national. Aguilar-Hernandez had been residing unlawfully in the United States and was wanted for murder in Honduras. ICE successfully removed him from the country on October 25, as reported by ICE.

Aguilar-Hernandez was transported from the Alexandria Staging Facility in Alexandria, Louisiana, to the Ramon Villeda Morales International Airport in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, via a flight organized by ICE’s Air Operations Unit. The source mentioned that upon his arrival, he was transferred to Honduran authorities.

Aguilar-Hernandez arrived in the United States as a nonimmigrant in Atlanta, Georgia, on September 12, 2018, with authorization to stay until March 11, 2019. However, he did not leave as scheduled. On January 29, 2019, the National Criminal Analysis and Targeting Center of ICE notified ERO Houston that Aguilar-Hernandez was a murder suspect in Honduras. Consequently, the fugitive operations officers of ERO Houston initiated a search to locate him.

ERO Houston officers located Aguilar-Hernandez at a residence in Galveston, Texas on May 23, 2024, and apprehended him. Following an immigration judge’s ruling on July 31, he was ordered to be removed from the country, a decision that was carried out by ICE officers on October 25.

ERO Houston Field Office Director Bret A. Bradford expressed his gratitude for the relentless efforts of the ERO Houston fugitive operations officers in pursuing a foreign fugitive for over five years. Their dedication was aimed at eliminating any potential threat to public safety. In May, their hard work paid off as they successfully located and apprehended the fugitive, ensuring the safety of the community.

The Security Alliance for Fugitive Enforcement (SAFE) Program, which was established in 2012, played a crucial role in apprehending Aguilar-Hernandez. This program involves a partnership that utilizes local resources and leads within the country to locate and deport individuals who are residing in the United States illegally and have foreign arrest warrants against them.

If you have any information about foreign fugitives, we encourage you to get in touch with ICE. You can reach out to them by calling the ICE Tip Line at 866-347-2423 or internationally at 001-1802-872-6199. Alternatively, you can also fill out ICE’s online tip form. Your assistance can make a difference in apprehending these individuals.
