A 21-year-old parent, Junniper, was arrested and charged with the sale or purchase of a child in Houston, TX, as per police officials. Junniper, who is struggling with substance abuse, allegedly wanted to sell her newborn on social media after a disagreement with the adoptive parents. Prosecutors revealed that she had posted in a social media group expressing her willingness to travel to a family who could take the baby off her hands. Investigation by authorities led to her arrest.

Police officials have reported that the woman went as far as reaching out to a family member, whose identity remains undisclosed, in an attempt to find someone to take the baby off her hands. It was revealed that she even highlighted the fact that the baby would test positive for drugs.

Throughout their investigation, authorities discovered that the woman had contacted approximately 10 individuals regarding the potential adoption of her child. The majority of those contacted were either same-se* couples or couples who were facing difficulties conceiving. During her conversations with these potential adoptive parents, the woman requested financial compensation. She allegedly explained that she needed “just enough to secure an apartment, find employment, and purchase a car.”

A couple from Louisiana traveled to Texas to meet with a woman who was considering adoption for her baby. However, their plans took a turn when she unexpectedly asked them to send her $200. The investigation into the situation started when Wendy, a prospective adoptive mother, expressed her interest in adopting Junniper’s baby.

Shortly after the baby was born at the end of September, Wendy and her husband received signed documents empowering them to make legal decisions for the baby. Surprisingly, just two days later, the biological mother posted a photo of the baby and tagged Wendy, the adoptive mother.

Afterwards, social media users began criticizing the adoptive parent, questioning her decision to “buy” the baby. When the adoptive parent confronted the biological mother about these comments, she allegedly instructed hospital staff to remove her from the room. In response, the adoptive parent contacted 911 and alerted Child Protective Services (CPS).

As the investigation commenced, the biological mother decided to revoke custody of the baby. Currently, the newborn is under the care of the biological mother’s friend, but Wendy remains hopeful that she will regain custody of the child.
