According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, an individual was shot on the near west side Thursday evening.
Around 5:31 p.m., IMPD officers responded to a shooting incident in the 1200 block of Medford Ave after receiving a distress call. Upon their arrival, they found a victim with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the police.
As of now, the authorities have not disclosed the identity of the victim or any possible suspects involved. It’s important to note that this is an ongoing investigation and updates will be provided as they become available.
