Robyn Rogers, 44, a cheer coach and child development teacher at a charter school in Arizona, has been arrested and charge. she hid and sexually abused a 17-year-old boy who went missing after running away from home in February, police say.

The 17-year-old was discovered last week near a home by State Highway 95 and Palo Verde Boulevard. According to AZFamily, during an interview with Rogers by Lake Havasu City Police, the boy was seen running out of the back of the house. Police pursued and apprehended him.

She faces three counts of sexual conduct with a minor, along with charges of hindering prosecution and false reporting to law enforcement. Additionally, the 44-year-old woman is charged with possession of narcotic drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Law&Crime reached out to Telesis Preparatory Academy by email and phone on Thursday. A spokesperson confirmed that Rogers was no longer employed at the academy.

According to Today’s News-Herald, Rogers was listed as a teacher at Telesis Preparatory Academy in Lake Havasu City until July 12, when her name was removed from the school’s staff directory. However, a cached version of the page showed that she was listed as a cheerleading coach, a teacher in child development and life skills, a school athletic liaison, and a board of directors liaison. A superintendent for the school district confirmed to Today’s News-Herald that Rogers is no longer employed with the charter school.

Rogers is currently Booked at the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office on a $30,000 bond. It is not clear if she has hired an attorney, and Law&Crime’s request for records or bond details has not yet been answered.

When police spoke to Rogers at the home on Highway 95 and Palo Verde, they reportedly suspected that the 17-year-old boy and the 44-year-old woman had a sexual relationship and that she was harboring him after he ran away from home on February 14, also known as Valentine’s Day, according to AZFamily.

Investigators were directed to the Lake Havasu City property due to tips from witnesses.
