Police received a report of a robbery at approximately 6 a.m. on Sunday in the 6600 block of Brentwood Stair Road.

An Arlington teenager is currently recovering from a terrifying incident in which she was assaulted, robbed, and abandoned on the side of the road in Fort Worth, Texas.

According to Kayla Horne, the incident took place in the early morning hours on Sunday.

Recalling the terrifying experience, Kayla expressed, “I thought I was going to die.”

She and another 18-year-old friend met with a group of people.

After indulging in some drinks, they decided to head to an after-hours nightclub. Unfortunately, due to her age, Horne couldn’t enter the club and had to wait in the car. As time passed, Horne began to feel unwell and ended up vomiting in the car. When the rest of the group returned, they were visibly displeased by the situation.

“Out of nowhere, one of the girls punched me in my mouth and jaw,” she said. “Just kept getting beat on and beat on.”

Horne recounted that her phone, money, and jewelry were snatched by the suspects who then callously forced her out of the vehicle, leaving her stranded on the street.

Fort Worth police were alerted to a robbery in the 6600 block of Brentwood Stair Road on Sunday at approximately 6 a.m.

“This could’ve happened to anybody,” Jessica Alexis, Horne’s aunt. “She could’ve been dead. We couldn’t have had her here today.”

The suspects are currently facing charges of aggravated robbery, however, Alexis is advocating for more severe charges to be brought against them.

“I don’t know why they’re not getting charged with more because they tried to kill her,” she said.

As Horne’s facial wounds heal, the emotional scars and broken trust linger.

“Something needs to be done,” said Alexis.
