The tragic loss of 22-year-old Ezell Hill has left his family devastated. He was fatally shot while delivering food late Tuesday night in Northwest D.C.

DC shooting investigation

The backstory:

Around midnight, Hill was riding an electric scooter on the 3100 block of 16th Street NW when someone opened fire on him multiple times. His family claims he died in the area where he was delivering food.

“What they’re saying:” Kevohn McCormick, the brother of the deceased, expressed his disbelief and profound sorrow as he grapples with the overwhelming loss.

“It’s unreal for a kid like him. He really doesn’t bother a soul. He is really passion-driven. He wanted to make sure he was doing something honest and could provide his own way,” McCormick said.

Tragically, Hill’s family shared that he had aspirations to join an IT job training program, a promising opportunity that was sadly snatched away from him.

The police are currently conducting an active investigation into the shooting and are actively searching for a dark Toyota sedan that they believe is linked to the crime.

It is still unclear what the motive for the shooting was.
