A man who had been evading capture for over two years in connection with a bank robbery in Tulsa has finally been apprehended in the Kansas City metro area.
A recent court filing on Tuesday, Feb. 4, in Clay County, Missouri, has unveiled the arrest of Roderick L. Robinson, 46, of Liberty, in connection with a bank robbery that took place in Oklahoma in 2022.
Robinson is currently in custody in Clay County on a charge of being a fugitive from another state.
On November 25, 2022, Robinson reportedly entered the MidFirst bank located at 42nd and S. Peoria. He then handed the teller a note, demanding money, according to the Tulsa Police Department.
According to law enforcement officials, the teller complied with the instructions and gave Robinson an undisclosed sum of money. Robinson subsequently fled in the direction of the library, running west across Peoria. A woman driving a dark-colored sedan then picked him up.
Investigators were unsuccessful in locating Robisonson despite scouring the Tulsa and Oklahoma City areas, as well as known areas in Texas where he frequented. Consequently, a felony warrant was issued for his arrest on November 28, 2022.
Law enforcement officials have cautioned that Robinson, who has previous felony convictions for bomb threats, is known to frequently alter his appearance. A comprehensive criminal records check brought to light Robinson’s history of engaging in such activities.
According to the records from the District Court of Tulsa County, Oklahoma, Robinson has been accused of second-degree robbery. His arrest warrant includes a bond of $250,000.
Robinson appeared in Clay County on Wednesday, where he was ordered to appear for an arraignment in Missouri at 9 a.m. on Feb. 28. No additional details have been disclosed at this time.
