Police found a man dozing off on a couch a few feet from the location where he fatally stabbed his sister and 2-year-old niece.

According to a news release, a lady flagged down Houston Police Department officers who were on patrol at approximately 3:10 a.m. on Friday to inform them of a woman and kid being held hostage in a neighboring apartment.

According to the police, 29-year-old Kendrick Rayvon Fisher was asleep on a couch when they arrived at the house. The statement revealed that the officers discovered multiple stab wounds on Fisher’s sister, 28, and her niece, 2. The officers declared both victims deceased at the apartment.

When the police took Fisher into custody, they found him with injuries “consistent with a physical altercation” and blood on his clothing.

Authorities arrested Grad Fisher and accused him of capital murder.
