Romeo Deshawn Senegal, 26, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a 32-year-old woman on the 17607 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) service road at 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 25.
Houston Police Department officers responded to a shooting complaint at the scene and discovered an unresponsive woman with a gunshot wound. Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department transported her to a nearby hospital, where they declared her dead. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is verifying her identity.
Investigators identified Senegal as the suspect after determining that the gunshot was the result of an altercation. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office reviewed the evidence and filed a murder charge in the 496th State District Court.
On Sunday, January 26, the Harris County Jail arrested Senegal without incident. The investigation is underway.
