Connecticut’s shoreline towns are currently experiencing the impact of the strong winds as Debby’s remnants move towards the north.

Prior to the commencement of the wind advisory, the weather conditions were quite placid, with gentle breezes and intermittent sunshine peeking through the overcast skies.

According to the wind advisory released by the National Weather Service, the expected winds will range from 15 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts of up to 50 miles per hour.

As dawn broke on Friday, the shoreline was relatively tranquil. However, the residents of Old Saybrook were preparing for the worst as the conditions were predicted to deteriorate throughout the day.

In the last few days, the marina has seen many boat owners taking measures to secure their boats.

Ralph Stevens, a resident of Old Saybrook, confidently declared, “We’ll be here once the storm comes, that’s for sure,” as he acknowledged their location high up on Main Street.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a possibility of unsecured objects and tree limbs being blown around, which could result in a few power outages.

Stevens is hoping that the weather will not affect his electricity.
