HOUSTON, Texas — A 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after being stopped for speeding on the South Sam Houston Tollway East, according to the Harris County Constable Precinct 2.

On December 21, 2024, deputies from Constable Jerry Garcia’s office observed a vehicle speeding at 114 mph in a 65 mph zone on the 8900 block of the tollway. The driver, identified as Rebecca R. Vega, from Houston, Texas, showed several signs of intoxication, leading to a DWI investigation, the press release stated.

Vega agreed to take Standardized Field Sobriety Tests but later refused to finish them. After evaluating the evidence, deputies determined she was under the influence. Vega was arrested and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center on charges of driving while intoxicated.
