A second teenager has been arrested by Gainesville police for the death of 16-year-old Jaishawn Overstreet. They believe that this individual is also responsible for the tragic incident.

The shooting death of Overstreet resulted in the murder charge of Quaran Jamir Jackson, an 18-year-old resident of Gainesville.

According to Gainesville police, Overstreet arranged a meeting at Ridgecrest Apartments on Roper Hill Road on April 27 with an undisclosed individual to engage in criminal activity. However, the specifics of the planned crime have not been revealed by the authorities.

Unfortunately, the young 16-year-old was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where he ultimately passed away just a few days later.

In the past month, Ja’quez Jeremiah Marquis Sims, 19, was arrested by police following the release of a sketch of him.

Authorities have taken Jackson into custody from his residence and have placed him in the Hall County Jail. He is facing accusations of felony murder and aggravated assault.

The events leading up to the fatal shooting remain uncertain.
