A 63-year-old woman was taken into custody for suspected impaired driving following a collision with a Maryland State Trooper’s vehicle on Interstate 695 in Lutherville, Md.

Late Friday night, a Maryland State Police trooper from the Golden Ring Barrack was sitting in her marked patrol vehicle with the emergency lights on. Suddenly, a Honda HR-V driven by Harriet Penniman Van Kleeck of Towson veered across two lanes and collided with the cruiser.

The trooper went to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore and was later discharged. Van Kleeck was taken into custody and accused of impaired driving and other traffic violations. She is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

A car accident took place at approximately 11:30 p.m. between Charles Road and York Road, leading to a temporary closure of I-695 for further investigation. The authorities are still looking into the incident.
