After completing a transaction on Wednesday, a woman was shot and robbed outside PLS Check Cashers on the 34 block of Aldine Bender Road close to Airline Drive.
Police say a lady was shot in a parking lot while trying to escape a robbery. She was returning to her car after cashing a cheque when the incident happened. She was opening the door of her automobile when she grew suspicious of a man coming from a nearby car. She tried to get away, but the suspect hit her once with at least two bullets.
According to a witness, the suspect fled the scene after stealing items from the victim. The witness also gave the suspect’s car’s description and license plate number. Later, officers found the car with two people inside. Both people are being held as police look into their involvement.
After being transported to a hospital, the victim—who was described as being in her early 20s—is currently having surgery.
