Wind gusts of 60 mph (ca. 97 km/h) or higher, quarter-size or larger hail, and a few tornadoes are the most likely risks, especially in places where instability rises by Sunday afternoon. The severe weather warning is valid from early Sunday, March 30, to 7 a.m. Monday, March 31.
Residents in Memphis, Birmingham, Jackson, and the neighboring areas are encouraged to constantly monitor predictions, have multiple alarm systems in place, and prepare for shelter if warnings are issued. While confidence in storm development is now assessed as medium, forecasters emphasize that early signs indicate a need for increased awareness.
