Police at Rafael Núñez International Airport made a startling discovery when they found drugs inside a suitcase.

The police at an airport in Colombia apprehended a British man after discovering two kilos of cocaine concealed under a sombrero in a hidden compartment of his suitcase.

The police stopped the unnamed suspect at Rafael Nunez International Airport as he was going through an X-ray scanner while attempting to board a flight to Panama. It was discovered that his ultimate destination, after the Panama flight, was Istanbul, Turkey, although the exact purpose of his trip remains unknown.

A sign reading ‘COCAINA’ in capital letters was placed in front of him as two kilos of illegal drugs were found inside a false bottom of the suitcase. Through an interpreter, he was asked in English if the luggage belonged to him before it was opened right in front of him.

At the airport, a test was conducted which immediately turned blue, indicating the presence of the drug. His mugshot was taken with two police officers by his side. It remains uncertain whether he has already appeared before a judge for custody pending an ongoing investigation.

Just four weeks ago, a Scottish man from Aberdeen named Ricky Grant Courage, 32, was apprehended at the same airport for attempting to transport two kilos of cocaine in his suitcase. Courage had intended to fly back to the UK with the drugs through Amsterdam. Presently, he is detained in a local prison on remand, while it remains uncertain whether these two cases are connected.

In April, Colombian authorities apprehended a British student for attempting to smuggle cocaine disguised as milk out of the country. The 25-year-old was intercepted at Alfonso Bonilla Aragon International Airport in Cali while trying to board a flight to London. Airport officers conducted a thorough inspection of the powdered milk packets he was carrying, revealing the illicit class-A substance. To confirm their suspicions, they performed a drug color test on the contents.

Fahad Uddin Ahmed, a British national who is believed to be a student, was forced by Colombian police to take a photograph in front of his stash of illegal drugs before being arrested. According to local reports, Ahmed was about to board a plane bound for London, with a layover in Frankfurt, Germany. The cocaine was found inside four bags labeled as Klim, which were in his carry-on luggage.

In October of last year, Modou Dodou Adams, a British model who showcased his luxurious lifestyle on social media, was sentenced to seven years in prison in Peru. He had been apprehended while attempting to leave the country with £300,000 worth of cocaine. Known as ‘boywholives’ on social media, Adams had garnered a large following with his fashionable appearances and extravagant travels. However, authorities soon discovered that his lavish lifestyle was merely a façade for his illicit endeavors.

A once glamorous world came crashing down when he admitted to being involved in drug trafficking. He now finds himself sentenced to six years and eight months in a South American jail, known for its dreadful conditions. Adams, who is only 25 years old, was apprehended at Lima’s international airport while attempting to board a flight to London via Paris. Authorities discovered nearly three kilos of cocaine in his suitcase.

Just 24 hours after his arrest, the same police force that detained Michaella McCollum and Melissa Reid, also known as the Peru Two in August 2013, swiftly brought him to trial and handed down his sentence.
