Louisiana State Police detained a state representative early Wednesday morning for first-offense driving while intoxicated and child endangerment.
Around 2:30 a.m., troopers went to a single-vehicle crash near Ames Boulevard in Jefferson Parish. Rep. Kyle M. Green (D) of Marrero was arrested on DWI charges.
Green allegedly ran off the road on U.S. 90 westbound, colliding with a concrete barrier. Green and his three young children were unharmed in the vehicle, and a family member took care of them.
Green was arrested, and troopers claim he refused to give a breath sample.
Kyle Green represents District 83, which encompasses areas of Jefferson Parish around Bridge City, Westwego, and Waggaman.
