The Garden City Recreation Center, located at 310 North 6th Street in Garden City, recently discovered higher-than-normal levels of carbon monoxide within the facility. In response, the officials promptly evacuated the building and have decided to keep it closed for the rest of the day. This precautionary measure has been taken to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals present at the center.

If you were at the Recreation Center on Friday, December 20th, it is important to monitor yourself and your loved ones for any symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure. These symptoms may include:

    1. Headache
    2. Dizziness
    3. Nausea or vomiting
    4. Shortness of breath
    5. Confusion or disorientation
    6. Loss of consciousness

Carbon monoxide, a gas without odor or color, can present significant health hazards. If you or someone you are aware of is displaying any of these symptoms, it is crucial to promptly seek fresh air and contact Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 for necessary assistance.
