A fast-moving storm system, stretching across thousands of miles, is set to bring a combination of snow, sleet, and rain as it moves towards the Northeast.
According to the National Weather Service, a significant weather system is expected to reach the East Coast later this week and continue to affect the region throughout the weekend.
The AccuWeather map above shows that there will be a wintry mix in the areas highlighted in pink on Friday, January 31, to Saturday, February 1. On the other hand, regions shaded in green are expected to experience steady rainfall.
The East Coast is expected to experience heavier rainfall in southern areas, although the exact snowfall amounts are still uncertain.
A powerful storm is expected to bring wintry precipitation to several mountain states on January 29th and 30th, before moving towards the east.
In the days preceding the storm, anticipate temperatures that are within the usual range for this time of year. Nevertheless, the presence of strong winds will create a chillier sensation.
